Health at Every Size (HAES)

A Health at Every Size (HAES) approach is an anti-diet approach championing holistic well-being for people living in any and all body sizes.

The HAES philosophy challenges the assumption (and myth) that weight is the primary determinant of health. HAES practitioners actively work to promote weight inclusivity, an anti-diet mentality, and the de-stigmatization of fat /weight biases.

HAES considers health to be a multi-dimensional spectrum inclusive of factors related to physical, emotional, nutritional, and spiritual health. HAES treatment focuses on life-enhancing movement, eating for well-being (intuitive eating), and most importantly, providing an authentically supportive space of safety and respect for people living in all body sizes.
